A GLAMOROUS NEW DINING SPOT FOR EVERY OCCASION

When you step inside, you’ll notice how effortlessly stylish Savoy by Le Raaj is. Elegant décor, warm ambient lighting and a contemporary open-plan kitchen set the scene. You can even watch the chefs in action as they bring each dish to life from the open kitchen.

Savoy is the latest venture from the family-run team behind award-winning Le Raaj, whose restaurants across the North East have long been favourites for those in search of authentic, flavour-packed Indian cuisine. With Savoy, they’ve taken things up a notch – blending fine dining with modern comfort and creating a restaurant that feels indulgent yet completely welcoming.

Whether it’s a romantic date night, a family celebration or a big group gathering, Savoy by Le Raaj makes every occasion feel special. And if you’d like something extra special, there are private dining options that mean you can host something extra memorable.

THE DISH EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT

The menu at Savoy by Le Raaj is full of tempting options, but one dish has quickly become a customer favourite – the pistachio chicken. It’s creamy, nutty and slightly spiced, made with crushed pistachios, garam masala, coriander seeds and Greek yoghurt. Rich without being heavy, it’s the kind of curry that keeps you going back in with your naan for “just one more dip” long after you’re full.

And there’s plenty more dishes where that comes from. The menu is like a love letter to India’s culinary heritage, with a modern twist. Think sizzling murgh tikka fresh from the clay oven, melt-in-your-mouth masala chicken cooked in a fragrant makhani sauce and the bold, smoky flavours of Lahori lamb Sheek kebab.

Vegetarians and plant-based foodies are just as well catered for, with dishes like the smooth and creamy asparagus and mushroom korma, fiery yet moreish tandoori broccoli florets and the indulgent, comforting sag paneer. Each dish feels carefully crafted – authentic, flavourful and the presentation is 10/10 (almost looks too good to eat)

SMALL PLATES WORTH SHARING

If you love variety, the small plates at Savoy by Le Raaj are an absolute must and a perfect option for exploring new flavours. These vibrant starters are designed for sharing (though you may not want to).

Crisp onion and samphire bhajis are given a fresh twist with fennel and spinach, while the prawn pakora brings the perfect balance of spice and tang. For something lighter, the paneer mango salad is a refreshing mix of citrus, heat and mint.

And then there’s the pulled chicken. Tender, smoky and spiced with garam masala and turmeric, it’s comfort food done the Savoy way – rich, warming and utterly addictive.

Pair your plates with a cocktail or a crisp glass of wine and you’ve got the perfect start to your evening.

LUNCHTIME JUST GOT BETTER WITH 2 COURSES FOR JUST £15

While Savoy by Le Raaj is ideal for an evening out, its £15 lunch menu is the real game-changer. Available daily, it lets you try some of the restaurant’s standout dishes without breaking the bank.

Here’s how it works: choose a small plate, then a vintage main and round it out with steamed basmati rice or butter naan – plus Savoy’s signature yellow lentils to share.

We’re talking fiery murgh tikka followed by a silky old Delhi butter chicken. Or if you fancy something veggie, start with a zesty paneer mango salad before tucking into creamy sag paneer. Either way, you’ll walk away feeling like you’ve had a serious treat for less than the price of your weekly takeaway.
