Competitions
High Life North runs competitions in partnership with third-party sponsors. Each prize is provided and fulfilled by the sponsor, and the sponsor is responsible for the prize, including its quality, delivery and any services provided as part of it.
The prize is as described on the competition page. There is no cash alternative, and prizes cannot be transferred. The sponsor’s own terms apply to the prize.
Your data
When you enter a competition, we collect the personal details you provide on the entry form, such as your name and email address. We handle your data in line with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy. We share your details securely with the competition sponsor so they can contact the winner and, where you have agreed, send you marketing. We only share the information needed to run the competition and fulfil the prize. By entering, you agree to your full name being published to announce the winner.
After the winner is drawn
Once a winner has been drawn and notified, the prize is arranged directly between the winner and the sponsor. From that point, High Life North accepts no further responsibility for the prize or for any dealings between the winner and the sponsor, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Any additional products or services a winner chooses to buy from a sponsor, including upgrades, extras or add-ons, are a separate contract between the winner and the sponsor. High Life North is not a party to that contract and is not responsible for it.
If you have a concern about a prize, please raise it with the sponsor first. We are happy to pass concerns on, but we are not able to resolve disputes between winners and sponsors.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Integrity
High Life North is committed to delivering a reliable and trustworthy source of information to our readers. We will never be paid or incentivised to speak positively about a product. Items and recommendations are only featured based on the genuine recommendations of the High Life North team. Where we are working with an HLN-approved advertiser, this content will clearly be marked with ‘ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE’ at the top of the article.
Affiliate links
We utilise the Awin affiliate network to gain a small commission on products that we recommend. The links or products do not cost the buyer any more than they usually would.
