Riley’s Fish Shack, Tynemouth

Riley’s Fish Shack – Beachside seafood restaurant in Tynemouth

Founded by husband and wife Adam and Lucy Riley out of a love for fresh, honest, healthy seafood and a frustration that so much great local catch was going unnoticed in their hometown of Tynemouth. Set right on King Edward’s Bay, it’s since expanded into Riley’s Fish Shop & Restaurant alongside the original shack, plus fish-skills, shellfish and pasta-making workshops.

The draw: the genuinely stunning beachside setting, a lighter no-booking lunch menu of oysters, ceviche and a drink, and the workshops for something a bit more hands-on.

Vibe check: relaxed and scenic, one of the most distinctive spots on the coast, though worth checking ahead given the lack of published hours and limited lunch bookings.
