I Scream for Pizza

I Scream for Pizza – New York style pizza and soft serve joint in Newcastle and Sunderland

I Scream for Pizza serves big, thin and crispy New York style pizza aiming for the “zero flop” slice, made with British Shipton Mill flour and cooked in a proper American PizzaMaster oven. Alongside pizza, subs and cocktails, it’s known for house made white and chocolate soft serve sundaes using local organic dairy milk and Belgian chocolate. There are currently three sites: Newcastle Quayside, Sunderland Sheepfolds, and a Freight Island location that isn’t yet listed with details on their site.

The draw: the happy hour deals are strong across sites, any 14″ pizza for £10 between 4 and 6.30pm Sunday to Thursday, plus a £5 lunch deal on the Quayside (large slice and a soft drink, weekdays 11.30am to 2pm) and Sunderland’s weekend bottomless brunch at £39 a head.

Vibe check: casual, fun and geared toward sharing pizza and pitchers with a crowd rather than a formal sit down meal. Worth booking a table at busy times since the counter can switch to “slices only” service when it’s rammed.
