Dot Bagels

Dot Bagels – Bagel shop & bakery in Heaton, Newcastle City Centre & Jesmond

Revived in 2022 back at its original well loved site on Chillingham Road in Heaton, Dot Bagels has since expanded into a small local chain, now with three sites across Newcastle. They handmake their bagels daily and have grown into a proper bakery and coffee stop too, serving handmade baked goods and drinks from their own coffee machines alongside the bagel menu.

The draw: Generously filled bagels with playful names like The Boujie Lox (smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, gherkins and rocket), The Bangin’ Bhaji (onion bhaji, garlic and mint sauce, pickled red onion, mango chutney and crushed poppadoms) and The Hallou-Me? (roasted Mediterranean veg, halloumi, pesto and balsamic glaze), plus a rotating programme of collabs and special events.

Address:
Heaton: 250 Chillingham Road, NE6 5LQ
Teahouse (Newcastle city centre): 1 Eldon Place, NE1 7RD
Jesmond: 34 Acorn Road, NE2 2DJ

Hours:
Heaton: Monday to Sunday, 8am to 3pm
Teahouse: Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 5pm. Sunday, 10am to 4:30pm
Jesmond: Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm. Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm

Vibe check: Casual, grab and go bagel spots with a loyal local following, good for a quick breakfast or lunch rather than a sit down meal. Heaton is the original and longest running of the three, Jesmond and the Teahouse site in the city centre offer the same core menu with slightly different hours, so worth checking which is most convenient before heading down.
