The Lubber Fiend / Lubber Kitchen – DIY music venue & restaurant in Newcastle city centre
The Lubber Fiend is a DIY music and events space that opened in May 2022, one of Newcastle’s newer independent small to mid sized venues with a capacity of 140, hosting gigs, DJ nights, film screenings, markets and talks. Downstairs, Lubber Kitchen serves a frequently changing menu inspired by European cookery, with generous seasonal small plates designed for sharing, family style, alongside foraged infusions, cocktails, speciality coffee and natural wines and beers. The venue is also home to Slack’s Radio, broadcasting daily from an on-site studio, with any profit from the kitchen going back into supporting the grassroots music venue.
The draw: A genuinely DIY, community minded venue combining live music and events with a proper kitchen and bar, plus the novelty of an in-house radio station and a strong safe space and inclusion policy.
Hours:
Thursday to Saturday, 12pm to 10pm, walk-ins welcome.
