Sanco is bringing La Dolce Vita to Newcastle this summer – no passport needed

There’s something about summer that makes you want to slow down, eat well, and savour every single moment. The Italians have a phrase for it, “la dolce vita,” and this season, Sanco is making sure Newcastle gets a proper taste of it.

The beloved Newcastle pizza spot has just launched its new summer theme, and it’s every bit as indulgent, sun-soaked and delicious as it sounds.

Think authentic Italian flavours, aperitivo boards, dreamy new pizza specials and cocktails made for long, lazy evenings. All without setting foot on a plane. We’re booking a table as we speak.

INTRODUCING LA DOLCE VITA

La dolce vita (the sweet life) is more than just a phrase. It’s a whole mood. Relaxed, joyful, centred around incredible food and the people you share it with. And that’s exactly the atmosphere Sanco has bottled up for this summer.

The new seasonal theme brings a fresh wave of Italian-inspired pizza specials to Sanco’s already legendary bottomless roulette experience. For the uninitiated: at Sanco, there’s no menu. You turn on the light at your table, and the pizzaioli bring the pizza to you. Keep the light on and the slices keep coming. Switch it off when you’re done. Simple, sociable, and seriously good fun.

This summer, those slices are getting a distinctly Italian upgrade.

THE NEW SUMMER PIZZA SPECIALS

Sanco’s new La Dolce Vita pizza specials are inspired by authentic Italian flavours and deep Neapolitan roots, and the lineup is seriously impressive. Expect to find combinations like nduja, speck and goat’s cheese; ham, olives and artichoke; spicy salami, basil and stracciatella; and a classic margherita made with buffalo mozzarella. For something a little lighter, there’s grilled aubergine, courgette and peppers, plus confit garlic, pecorino and basil.

And that’s just the start, more flavours are on the way throughout the summer, so no two visits will ever be quite the same. That’s what we love about a pizza roulette.

APERITIVO BOARDS, ITALIAN COCKTAILS AND DESSERT SPECIALS

A true Italian summer experience doesn’t begin and end with pizza, and Sanco knows it. The La Dolce Vita theme brings aperitivo boards to the table, perfect for grazing, sharing and settling into that slow, indulgent Italian rhythm before the pizza arrives.

Pair that with one of Sanco’s Italian cocktails (an Aperol Spritz feels practically mandatory at this point) and you’ve got the full experience. Finish things off with one of the new dessert specials and honestly, you’ll wonder why you ever thought about booking a flight to Rome.

AUTHENTIC NEAPOLITAN PIZZA, RIGHT HERE IN THE NORTH EAST

What sets Sanco apart isn’t just the concept, it’s the craft behind every single slice. Sanco’s pizzaioli train with the masters at AVPN Napoli, following UNESCO-recognised Neapolitan pizza traditions that have been perfected over centuries. The dough is made fresh on-site every day using Caputo flour, and San Marzano DOP tomatoes from Naples form the base of every pizza.

It’s all cooked in a Gozney Napoli Elite wood-fired oven, right in the heart of the restaurant. If you’re lucky, and curious enough to ask, you might even get to have a go with the pizza peel yourself.

STARTING FROM JUST £16

Sanco’s bottomless pizza roulette experience starts at just £23 per person, making it one of the best value dining experiences in Newcastle.

Heading in for a weekday lunch between Monday and Thursday, from 12pm to 4.30pm? It’s just £16. And if you’re bringing the little ones along, under 11s eat for £11.50 including a soft drink.
