Spring is the season of fresh starts, and next month Newcastle Kitchen & Bedroom Co are throwing open the doors of their Blaydon showroom for their most anticipated annual kitchen event.
Free to attend with no tickets or booking required, the Siemens Live Cook Event takes place on Saturday 9th May from 10am to 4pm and promises a brilliant day out – whether you’re mid-renovation, just starting to dream or just love great food and beautiful interiors.
MEET THE CHEF: JILL WEATHERBURN TAKES CENTRE STAGE
At the heart of the event is renowned Siemens food stylist and home economist Jill Weatherburn, whose career spans more than 30 years and includes working alongside Mary Berry and collaborating with household names like Greggs, Hovis and Quorn. Jill will be hosting live demonstrations throughout the day, showing exactly how Siemens’ intelligent appliances can transform the way you cook at home.
On the menu
The menu has been designed specifically around Siemens technology and it’s set to impress. Expect crispy bacon and spring onion crostini and wild mushroom crostini to kick things off, followed by lamb koftas with whipped feta and flatbreads, salmon with an orange and herb crust and crushed Jersey Royals at lunch, then strawberries and cream roulade, raspberry and chocolate tarts and cream scones for afternoon tea. All produced live in the showroom kitchen, with wine, craft beers and mocktails to keep things flowing nicely.

The event brings together some brilliant North East names, too. Tynemouth Coffee Company will be running barista demonstrations with exceptional artisan coffee, while SQ Pizza brings its legendary Detroit-style pies to the party. Sibylle Clerey Interiors will be on hand with beautiful interior inspiration, Quooker and Karndean Design Flooring will be showcasing their latest innovations, and Flori & Fern will bring the whole space to life with their stunning floral displays.
