Team High Life North’s spring bucket list

Spring has officially sprung, and with it comes longer days, warmer weather and that urge to finally escape from hibernation, get outside and make the most of the season.

Our team has pulled together a spring bucket list full of adventures, treats and little indulgences that make this time of year so special.

From local countryside gems to cosy meals and wellness experiences, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s what team High Life North will be getting up to this season…

LAURA’S SPRING BUCKET LIST

Laura’s spring is all about adventure and self-care, combining trips, foodie experiences and wellness treats.

Our founder and managing editor, Laura, has spring plans that are the perfect mix of adventure and self-care. She’s finally making a trip to Lubber Kitchen  – an European dining spot with a twist that she’s been meaning to try for ages.

She’s also planning a wild solo camping adventure in Northumberland in her new Jimny car with her gorgeous puppy Gigi, our newest HLN member. Whether it’s cosy campfires, starry skies or just a bit of fresh air, this trip promises wholesome memories that’ll last a lifetime.

To round things out, Laura is taking some time for a skin consultation and personal skin plan at Skin & Soul. Spring is the perfect time to focus on wellness, refresh routines and start the season feeling fresh and revitalised.

RACHAEL’S SPRING BUCKET LIST

Rachael is embracing spring’s beauty with colourful blooms, scenic walks and comfort food experiences.

Our head of content, Rachael, is all about embracing the natural beauty of spring. First up, she can’t wait to wander through the first-ever tulip field in Northumberland at Brockbushes Farm Shop, which opens on Friday. Imagine rows of vibrant colours stretching as far as the eye can see – she’s actually going on Friday (cue plenty of Instagram pics)

Next, she’s heading to the Alnwick Garden to catch the cherry blossoms in full swing. Good news, the blossoms have already started to appear and there’s something magical about wandering beneath those soft pink blooms.

Of course, no spring outing is complete without food, while in Alnwick, Rachael has her heart set on trying a classic Sunday lunch at Bailiffgate Hotel & Restaurant. There’s something so comforting about a roast dinner on a sunny spring afternoon.

BETH’S SPRING BUCKET LIST

Beth’s bucket list is all about balance, blending beer gardens with outdoor adventures and mindful experiences.

Our head of digital, Beth, has spring plans that are all about balancing adventure with relaxation. First, she’s looking forward to a sunny Saturday at Sheepfolds Stables with a pint in one hand and street food in the other.

She wants to enjoy a sunrise sauna and sea dip at Steam & Salt. Early mornings might not usually be her thing, but there’s nothing quite like that crisp sea air and the rush of a freezing dip to really wake you up.

Finally, she’s planning to feed the lambs at Ouseburn Farm. It’s an activity that’s as adorable as it is grounding, reminding us all to enjoy the simple pleasures spring brings.

ROSIE’S SPRING BUCKET LIST

Rosie’s spring is all about treats and indulgences, from delicious meals to ice cream and a rejuvenating spa day.

Our head of sales Rosie’s spring is set to be full of treats and indulgences. She’s planning a Sunday lunch at The Delaval Arms, a chance to enjoy good food, great company and maybe even a cheeky dessert (or two).

When the sun’s shining, she’s all about grabbing an ice cream from Morwick Dairy. There’s something about wandering around with a cone in hand in spring that really makes you enjoy the little things you’ve missed in winter.

And for the ultimate spring reset, Rosie’s scheduling a spa trip to The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa. A little pampering, some quiet time and maybe a dip in the pool – it’s exactly what we all need to recharge for the weeks ahead.
