What’s on at the cinema this month
March is shaping up to be a seriously exciting month for film fans.
From long-awaited franchise returns and big-name blockbusters to family adventures and dark comedies, there’s plenty landing in cinemas and on streaming this month.
Whether you’re planning a big-screen date night, a family trip to the cinema or a cosy Netflix evening, these are the 11 films we’re most excited about watching in March.
PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL MAN

By order of the Peaky Blinders, the Shelby family is back – and this time they’re heading to the big screen.
Set in 1940s Birmingham during World War II, Cillian Murphy returns as the iconic Tommy Shelby, who is forced out of self-imposed exile to face his most dangerous reckoning yet. With the future of the Shelby family hanging in the balance, Tommy must decide whether to confront his legacy or destroy it entirely. Expect plenty of tension, drama and that unmistakable Peaky atmosphere.
THE BRIDE!

Classic horror gets a bold new twist in The Bride!, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The story follows a lonely Frankenstein (Christian Bale) who travels to 1930s Chicago to ask scientist Dr Euphronious (Annette Bening) to create him a companion. When they revive a murdered young woman, The Bride (Jessie Buckley) is born – but the consequences are far more chaotic than anyone expected. Think obsession, rebellion and a wildly unconventional love story.

Pixar’s latest animated adventure looks like a lot of fun for the whole family.
Animal lover Mabel discovers new technology that allows her to “hop” her consciousness into a robotic beaver so she can communicate directly with animals. But once inside their world, she uncovers secrets that could threaten the entire animal kingdom – and must rally them together to stop a looming human threat. The voice cast includes Jon Hamm, Meryl Streep and Dave Franco.
MOTHER’S PRIDE

From the team behind Fisherman’s Friends comes another feel-good British comedy.
Mother’s Pride follows a struggling pub and the tight-knit community determined to save it. Their solution? Brew their own ale and enter the Great British Beer Awards. With stars including Mark Addy, Martin Clunes and James Buckley, expect plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments.
HOW TO MAKE A KILLING
From 13th March
If dark comedy is more your style, this one sounds deliciously outrageous.
Glen Powell stars as Becket Redfellow, a man determined to reclaim the $28 billion fortune his mother was denied. The only catch? Seven relatives stand between him and the inheritance – and he plans to eliminate every single one.
PROJECT HAIL MARY
From 19th March
Ryan Gosling heads into space in this big-screen adaptation of Andy Weir’s bestselling sci-fi novel.
Science teacher Ryland Grace wakes up alone aboard a spaceship with no memory of who he is or how he got there. As his memory slowly returns, he realises he’s on a mission to save Earth from extinction. What follows is a gripping mix of science, survival and an unexpected friendship.
READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME

The deadly game isn’t over yet.
Picking up moments after the events of the 2019 original, Grace (Samara Weaving) thought she’d survived – but the nightmare is far from finished. This time she must protect her younger sister while being hunted by powerful families competing for control of a mysterious global council.
THE GOOD BOY

This dark thriller centres on Tommy, a teenage criminal who is kidnapped by a strange couple determined to “rehabilitate” him.
Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough play the unsettling duo who push their experiment to extreme lengths. But Tommy isn’t planning on sticking around – and escaping their twisted plan becomes his only focus.
THE MAGIC FARAWAY TREE
From 27th March
One of the UK’s most beloved children’s stories is finally getting the big-screen treatment.
When a family moves to the countryside, the children discover a magical tree filled with eccentric residents, including Moonface and Silky. At the top of the tree lie ever-changing lands filled with adventures that bring the family closer together.
THE DOG STARS
From 27th March
Ridley Scott directs this gripping post-apocalyptic drama based on Peter Heller’s novel.
After a virus wipes out much of humanity, a pilot and an ex-marine struggle to survive while searching for hope beyond their isolated base. Expect intense action, emotional storytelling and stunning visuals.
THEY WILL KILL YOU
From 27th March
Rounding out the month is a horror comedy packed with mystery and chaos.
Zazie Beetz plays Asia, who takes a job as a housekeeper at a luxurious estate with a disturbing past. Before long she discovers the house hides sinister secrets, from missing residents to cult activity.
