The Angel of Corbridge

The Angel of Corbridge – Historic pub, dining & rooms in Corbridge, Northumberland

Dating back to 1569, The Angel is possibly the oldest inn in Northumberland, set in the Roman-history-steeped village of Corbridge. Food is the main draw –  homemade, hearty, and built on locally sourced produce, including own-farm lamb, house-made sausages, and game from local shoots. Dine in the bar, the wood-panelled lounge by a real fire, or the dining room, with Sunday lunch a firm local favourite.

The draw: A strong cask ale and wine selection, a south-facing outdoor space for sunny pints or fish and chips, traditional (mostly dog-friendly) bedrooms and an apartment for an easy staycation, and a genuinely deep, well-documented house history stretching back over 450 years.
