Sanco Pizza, Newcastle
Sanco – unlimited Neapolitan pizza on your own terms, Newcastle
If you’ve been looking for some of the best pizza in Newcastle, Sanco is the answer, and it does things entirely on its own terms. There’s no menu. There’s a light on your table. Turn it on, and hand-crafted Neapolitan pizza slices start arriving, with no idea what’s coming next. You just keep eating until you switch it off.
The draw: The concept is rooted in the Italian tradition of communal dining and in reducing food waste, with pizzaiolos trained by AVPN in Naples, dough made fresh daily using Caputo flour, San Marzano DOP tomatoes, and everything cooked in a Gozney Napoli Elite wood-fired oven.
Pricing is straightforward too: £23 per adult for unlimited pizza, or £16 Monday to Thursday between noon and 4:30pm, genuinely one of the best-value lunch deals in the city centre. Kids under 11 eat for £11.50 including a soft drink.
Address: The Forge, Forth Banks, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3AA
Hours:
Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 10pm.
Friday and Saturday, 10am to 11pm.
Coffee and cannoli served from 10am, pizza from noon, with last sitting at 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends.
Vibe check: Playful and a little unpredictable, built for people who like to be surprised rather than agonise over a menu. Great for groups happy to share and graze, and worth booking ahead given how popular it is.
