Osters, Gosforth
Osters – Sustainable seasonal restaurant in Gosforth, Newcastle
From the same owners as Lovage Jesmond, Osters brings a similar Michelin recognised approach to Gosforth High Street, focused on fish, meat and vegetarian dishes cooked simply using seasonal, local and foraged ingredients. Sustainability and ethics sit at the heart of the menu, with the team aiming to connect diners to the outdoors and the local community.
The draw: Michelin Guide 2024 and 2025 recognition, plus a monthly BYOB night on the third Wednesday of the month with no corkage fee, where the kitchen builds dishes around whatever seasonal ingredients are in that day.
Hours:
Monday and Tuesday, closed.
Wednesday to Friday, 5pm to 9pm.
Saturday, 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm.
Sunday, 12pm to 4:45pm.
Vibe check: A relaxed but polished spot for a proper sit down meal, best booked ahead given the reservation based format and its sibling restaurant’s popularity. The BYOB nights are a nice touch if you want to bring a favourite bottle without the usual markup.
