From the creators of Coarse, Isla is a brunch and sharing plates restaurant on North Road in Durham, splitting its day into a relaxed morning brunch service followed by a sharing plates menu through the afternoon and evening.

The draw: A two part daily format, brunch to start the day followed by a switch to small sharing plates for lunch and dinner, all from the team behind the well regarded Coarse.

Hours:
Brunch: Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am to 12pm. Saturday, 9am to 12pm.
Sharing plates: Tuesday, 12pm to 5pm. Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm to 10pm.
Closed Sunday and Monday.

Vibe check: Good for either a leisurely weekend brunch or a small plates dinner later in the day, with the split hours worth noting if you’re planning which service to catch. Booking ahead is recommended given the Coarse connection tends to draw a crowd.
