Haunted Raby: Ghost Walk Tour – County Durham
Raby Castle hosts a special torchlit ghost walk tour at dusk, uncovering centuries of unexplained phenomena and reported hauntings.
Guides meet guests at twilight by the Roundhouse, leading the way through the 18th century walled garden and its atmospheric yew hedges before reaching the castle itself. By candlelight and torchlight, the tour moves through rooms both familiar and not usually open to the public, sharing eerie tales passed down through generations alongside the castle team’s own recent brushes with the unexplained.
Not suitable for children under 16 or accessible to wheelchair users, each group is limited to 20 guests, and the tour includes unheated rooms, outdoor elements and steep stairs, so warm clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended. Latecomers cannot be admitted, so arriving on time is essential.
Runs on 24th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st October, plus 1st November, with entry slots at 6pm and 6:30pm each night.
