Inside our editor’s beauty cabinet: the secret perfume, detox oil and smudge-proof mascara

From the skincare combination that finally calmed her skin to the mascara that stays put through anything, Laura opens the bathroom cabinet and makeup bag.
SKINCARE
If there’s one corner of my bathroom cabinet I’m evangelical about, it’s this one. My skin has never looked better, and I put that down to a simple four-step routine that I’ve stuck to. It starts with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, which takes off the day, followed by the Medicube Zero Pore Pad 2.0 for a clearer, smoother-looking finish. Then comes the Skingossips Glow & Detoxify Face Oil, honestly the best detox oil I’ve ever used, and the Kind Atoms Atomic Moisturiser to finish. This combination has my skin looking its best, and the best news of all is that I no longer get hormonal breakouts. I’d happily recommend every step.
TOOLS AND TREATMENTS
Beyond the daily routine, there’s a handful of little extras that make a big difference. I use my FaceGym Multisculpt Gua Sha twice a day, while a Philips Facial Lady Shaver keeps things smooth with minimal fuss. For my smile, I rely on Boutique teeth whitening, and when I want a glow without the faff, it’s the Bondi Sands Express 1 Hour Tan, which means no more orange bedsheets, a win for anyone who’s ever woken up to a stained pillowcase. Last but not least, Eyelure Dybrow gives my brows definition for weeks. None of these are complicated, but together they make getting ready feel so much easier.
HAIR AND BODY
The shower is where I do a lot of my pampering. My hair gets the full Kérastase treatment, with the Gloss Absolu Duo shampoo and conditioner, made for hair prone to frizz, on every wash, and the Masqueintense hair mask for when it needs a little extra love. Once I’m out, my body gets the same attention. Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada Lotion is a daily treat, an Estrid shaver keeps legs smooth, and Palmer’s Body Oil is the finishing touch that leaves my skin feeling soft and looking glowy. It’s a routine that turns an everyday shower into something that feels a lot more like a spa, even on a busy weekday morning.
THE MAKEUP BAG
My makeup bag is a mix of luxury classics and a few brilliant bargains. I literally spend five minutes on my makeup; it’s the quickest routine. The base is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation, topped with a Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer for glow, and a pop of bright pink Giorgio Armani blusher for colour. My brows are filled in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, and Makeup by Mario cream eyeshadow makes eyes look polished in seconds. Then there’s the star of the show: WowCombo My Amazing Lashes mascara. It stays put through anything (yes, tested on tears), so if you struggle with smudging, this is the one to buy. It’s the one product I’d never be without.
SCENT AND NAILS
Every look needs a finishing touch. My signature scent is Liquid London For Her, and I’m not gatekeeping. Everyone asks me what I’m wearing, and I love that it’s so affordable. It’s proof that smelling good doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Try it and watch the compliments roll in. For nails, I’m always reaching for Essie in Chocolate Brown. It’s understated and works with everything in my wardrobe, whatever the season. It’s a combination that makes me feel pulled together with minimal effort.
