Bottomless pizza in Newcastle: your slice of Christmas sorted at Sanco
Bottomless pizza in Newcastle, festive specials on repeat, and a salted caramel martini to get the party started? That’s Christmas nights out sorted at Sanco.
The no-menu Neapolitan pizza spot at The Forge on Forth Banks is serving up a slice of Christmas, and it’s got your work do, girls’ night and family get-together covered for £24 a head.
Think pigs in blankets, turkey and stuffing, and lashings of cranberry sauce, all landing on a wood-fired crust and coming to your table for as long as you can keep going. Let’s get a pizza in action.
THE NIGHT OUT THAT DOESN’T STOP (UNTIL YOU SAY SO)
Here’s how Sanco’s bottomless pizza works. There’s no menu and no ordering, just a light at your seat. Switch it on and one of the pizzaioli brings the first slice of pizza roulette straight to your table. Keep it on and the slices keep coming. Switch it off when you need a breather, or when your Christmas jumper’s reached maximum stretch.
It’s a brilliant leveller for a Christmas night out as Sanco does the thinking for you. Nobody’s squinting at a set menu, nobody’s stuck with the dish they regret ordering, and nobody’s arguing over who had the extra garlic bread when the bill lands. It’s £24 each, full stop.
Pizza roulette, festive edition. You’re going to want to spin it.
FESTIVE FLAVOURS TO TOP YOUR MUST-TRY LIST
This December, Sanco’s festive menu is joining the roulette. Every pizza starts with dough made fresh on-site daily with Caputo flour, blistered in the Gozney Napoli Elite oven that sits right in the middle of the restaurant. Here’s what could land on your table.
There’s brie, pancetta, cranberries and stuffing on a creamy white base, which is rich, salty, sweet and gooey all at once. Think of it as a Boxing Day cheeseboard that’s found its true calling.
Pigs in blankets team up with Brussels sprouts on another. Yes, sprouts. Charred in a wood-fired oven, even the sprout sceptics might be won over, and the pigs in blankets do the heavy lifting either way.
The turkey, stuffing and cranberry pizza is Christmas dinner in its purest form, minus the three-hour wait and the mountain of washing up. And for the one that’ll get the whole table talking, there’s a swede base topped with pigs in blankets and a rich gravy. It’s the most northern thing to happen to a pizza, and we’re here for it.
They’ll be coming out alongside the Sanco classics and a few festive wildcards the chefs are keeping under their hats. That’s the fun of it. You never know which slice is next.
YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY’S FOUND ITS VENUE
If you’re still hunting for a Christmas party venue in Newcastle, this is your sign. Sanco’s industrial-luxe interior strikes a lovely balance between buzzy and cosy, so it works just as well for a big office crowd as it does for a gang of six squeezing in a catch-up before the big day.
There’s a show going on, too. You can watch the chefs working the oven while you eat, and if you’re lucky, they might even let you have a go with the pizza peel. Try finding that at your average Christmas party.
Bringing the family? Under 11s eat for £11.50 including a soft drink, so the little ones can get stuck in too.
Office party? Pizza party. Sorted.
IT’S SNOW JOKE: THE SALTED CARAMEL MARTINI’S HERE
Every Christmas night out needs a signature drink, and at Sanco it’s the salted caramel martini. Sweet, silky and finished with just enough salt to keep you going back for another sip, it’s the round everyone at the table will want to order.
Start with one in the lounge before you switch your light on, or save it for when you’ve finally admitted defeat to the pizza. There are plenty of other cocktails to work through too, and the lounge is made for lingering over one more round.
Cheers to that.
CAN’T FIT IN A NIGHT OUT? LUNCH IS SLICE TOO
December diaries filling up fast? The weekday bottomless pizza deal is £16, Monday to Friday from 12pm to 4.30pm, which makes it a cracking shout for a festive team lunch or a midweek Christmas shopping break. Here’s why we reckon it’s lunch in Newcastle done right.
And don’t forget to save room for dessert. We’re still dreaming about their famous Nonne Franchi’s Tiramisu.
THE GIFT THAT’LL KEEP ON SLICING
Stuck on what to get the pizza lover in your life? A Sanco gift card’s about as foolproof as Christmas presents get, because who’s going to turn down bottomless pizza? Honestly, it’s pizza cake.
