Loved Wuthering Heights? Saltmoore launches film-inspired romantic escape across the Yorkshire Moors
- Advertisement Feature
With Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, sweeping us all off our feet at the box office, Saltmoore, the luxury wellness-led retreat on the North Yorkshire coast, is bringing the cinematic drama to life.
Inspired by Emily Brontë’s timeless tale of passion, revenge and the wild moors, Wuthering Heights: Moors & Moonlight invites guests to step into the shoes of Cathy and Heathcliff with a romantic two-night escape where you star in your own love story – no audition required.
Wander windswept moors, explore charming villages and feel the North Sea breeze as you venture, returning each evening to a retreat that blends luxury, calm and a distinctly British sense of drama.
Nestled between the North Sea and the North York Moors, Saltmoore is famous for its luxurious hospitality, fresh flavours and a strong sense of place. This package offers a contemporary twist on literary tourism: immersive, unhurried and deeply connected to the landscape.
Recently awarded two MICHELIN Keys in the 2025 hotel selection, Saltmoore remains one of the UK’s most exceptional stays, combining character, a warm Yorkshire welcome and the perfect backdrop for romance… without the tragic ending.
YOUR SELF-DRIVE CINEMATIC ADVENTURE
Forget the traditional sightseeing rush, this is a slow cinema experience for the modern explorer. At the heart of the package is the Wuthering Heights Filming Route Map, an exclusive guide that helps you trace the moors, historic villages and cinematic viewpoints featured in the new film. Designed to be completed in a day, it leaves plenty of time for photography, reflective strolls or a leisurely lunch along the way.
Choose your mode of travel: slip on Hunter wellies for moorland adventures on foot or take the eco-friendly route with a Tesla Model Y self-drive. The electric option lets you roam the countryside quietly, petrol-free and at your own pace, leaving plenty of room for reflection and the occasional moorland selfie.
TWO NIGHTS OF STAR TREATMENT
The Wuthering Heights: Moors & Moonlight package is a romantic rural escape to disconnect, unwind and immerse yourself in a literary landscape. Your stay includes a two-night midweek retreat at Saltmoore House with daily breakfast, full access to The Sanctuary spa and a 60-minute Wildsmith Skin treatment per guest. On your first evening, enjoy dinner at The Brasserie with a £50 allowance per person, followed by a fireside nightcap in the lounge bar.
Saltmoore provides Hunter wellies for moorland and coastal walks and your bespoke Wuthering Heights Filming Map, available in print and digital, highlights scenic stops, suggested routes and cinematic viewpoints. Whether you arrive ready to channel your inner Cathy or Heathcliff, Saltmoore ensures your feel like the lead in your own gothic romance.
DAY 1: FADE IN
Your cinematic escape begins the moment you arrive. Check in, settle into your room and let the calm of Saltmoore wash over you. Unpack, enjoy your Wildsmith Skin treatment, and later, indulge in dinner at The Brasserie before a fireside nightcap in the lounge. This is your “establishing shot” of rest, relaxation and anticipation for the adventure ahead.
DAY 2: ROLLING CREDITS ON WHEELS
After breakfast, grab your map and choose whether to hop in a self-drive Tesla (to save on petrol) or use your own car. The day is yours to explore Brontë country at your own pace. Wind through moorland villages, pause at sweeping valleys and linger at cinematic viewpoints, the perfect setting for daydreams or dramatic reenactments. Coffee stops, lunch breaks or just soaking in the view are all part of the script. By evening, return to Saltmoore for an unhurried night, reflecting on the beauty of landscapes both wild and cultivated.
DAY 3: FINAL SCENE
Before checking out, slip on your Hunter wellies and enjoy one last wander. Choose a moorland route or a coastal walk along sands and cliffs. Let the North Sea air refresh your senses, maybe catch the morning sun on the waves, and finish with a final visit to The Sanctuary before departure. It’s the perfect closing scene to an experience that’s equal parts adventure, romance and restoration.
