Inside Regular Jo’s Coffee – serving seasonal sips and cosy vibes for coffee lovers

If you’re someone who can’t start the day without your caffeine fix, there’s one North East spot you need to have on your radar this autumn – Regular Jo’s Coffee.

Known for its small-but-mighty charm, this independent Tynemouth cafe is a go-to for good coffee, warm vibes and a rotating lineup of seasonal drinks that keep us coming back for more.

Think honey cinnamon lattes, chocolate chai and a beloved autumn staple, the pumpkin spiced latte (PSL). Regular Jo’s has you covered seven days a week for every cosy-weather craving.

A REFRESHED SPACE FOR A FRESH COFFEE EXPERIENCE

Since their cafe refurb back in January, Regular Jo’s Coffee has somehow squeezed even more coffee equipment into their cosy space — and trust us, it’s been worth it. The upgrade means they can now offer a seasonally changing coffee menu and showcase a different guest coffee roaster every month, across espresso, batch brew and pour-over.

Their house brew comes from Baristocracy Coffee, a bold Australian-style speciality roast that pairs perfectly with their homemade cakes and bakes. And speaking of bakes, Regular Jo’s works with local legends like Smoosh, Northern Rye, The Little Dough Dough Bakery and Crooked Cookie to keep their counter stocked with irresistible sweet treats.

A DECADE OF DELICIOUS COFFEE ON THE MOVE

Not content with just brewing great coffee in one place, the team has given their mobile setup a major glow-up. Their VW Transporter is now fully fitted with everything they need to bring that Regular Jo’s Coffee vibe to local markets and events.

You’ll still find them every Saturday and Sunday at Tynemouth Market, where they’re celebrating a huge milestone — 10 years of mobile coffee. And if you’re closer to Morpeth, they’ve now added a Wednesday slot at Morpeth Market (9am–3pm), giving you another reason to skip the instant and treat yourself mid-week.

THE REGULAR JO’S COFFEE VIBE WE ALL LOVE

Plenty of coffee spots serve great brews, but Regular Jo’s Coffee stands out for its personality. It’s small, friendly and full of heart — the kind of place where baristas actually know your name (and your order). Whether you’re popping in for a flat white or lingering with a pour-over and a chat, the vibe is always fun, laid-back and welcoming.

Owner Jo sums it up perfectly:

“We serve exceptional coffee in a variety of brew methods, but it’s our warm, everyone is welcome vibe that makes us stand out.”

AUTUMN SIPS YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS

Regular Jo’s autumn coffee menu is all about those comforting, cosy flavours that make you want to wrap up and stay awhile.

We’re obsessed with all their specials from the PSL to sweet maple latte and honey cinnamon latte alongside chocolate chai and maple oat hōjicha – a nutty, roasted twist on traditional matcha.

You’ll also find an impressive range of retail coffee options to take home, featuring beans from a rotating selection of roasters with different flavour profiles. Whether you love espresso-based drinks, slow-pour V60s or batch brews, there’s always something new to discover at Regular Jo’s Coffee.

COMMUNITY, COLLABS AND COFFEE LOVERS

Regular Jo’s Coffee has become a hub at the heart of their community. They collaborate with local businesses, host occasional pop-ups and even have a special shopping night on Thursday 20th November, where you can bag discounted products and enjoy festive feels.

Wondering what to order? The locals have spoken — the flat white is an all-time favourite, best paired with their vegan sea salt cookie (trust us, it’s a match made in heaven).
