Foodies, Gaucho Newcastle has just launched a brand-new set lunch menu – and at just £19.95 for three courses, it’s an absolute steal.
If you’re looking for the perfect excuse to escape the hustle and bustle of Newcastle city center, Gaucho Newcastle is a must.
Nestled inside a beautifully restored Grade II-listed building on Pilgrim Street, Gaucho Newcastle is the North East’s first Argentine steak restaurant – and it has quickly become the go-to spot for those who love exceptional food, premium wines, and a stylish yet welcoming atmosphere.
Whether you’re slipping away from the office for a speedy midweek bite or settling in for a long, leisurely lunch catching up with friends, the new set lunch menu is the perfect way to enjoy the very best of Gaucho without breaking the bank.
A TASTE OF ARGENTINA IN THE HEART OF NEWCASTLE
Available Monday – Saturday from 12pm until 4pm
Two courses for just £17.95/three courses for £19.95
Expect dishes that celebrate the bold, vibrant flavours of Latin America alongside Gaucho’s signature dedication to quality ingredients.
To start, you might opt for a hearty chunky minestrone soup, brimming with cannellini beans, courgettes, carrots and bulgur wheat. Or perhaps a three cheese empanada, perfectly golden and paired with rocket, pickled red onion and salsa golf. Seafood lovers will find it hard to resist the prawn chicharrón, crispy prawns in a sweet and spicy Peruvian chilli sauce with jalapeños and pickled red onion.
For mains, steak aficionados will be delighted with the rump and chips, the leanest cut with pure, distinctive flavour, served with Gaucho’s legendary chimichurri. Alternatively, try the pan-fried haddock with brown butter, lemon, parsley and capers, or indulge in the vegetarian pumpkin, ricotta and sage ravioli, finished with walnuts and Parmesan.
And of course, no Argentine-inspired meal would be complete without something sweet. Think dulce de leche pancake with banana split ice cream, a rich chocolate brownie with white chocolate ice cream, or a refreshing selection of sorbets.
THE GAUCHO NEWCASTLE VIBE
Step inside and you’ll be welcomed into a space that strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and cosy sophistication. Warm ambient lighting, plush upholstered seating and soft natural touches like pampas grass create an inviting atmosphere, while the sweeping centrepiece bar – all metallic golds and warm tones – is the perfect backdrop for a pre-lunch cocktail or post-meal digestif.
The restaurant’s design pays homage to Newcastle’s rich history of craftsmanship and industry, while adding a dash of glamour that makes it feel like somewhere truly special. Whether you’re tucked away in a booth or people-watching from the main dining area, Gaucho feels effortlessly chic without ever being stuffy.
MORE THAN JUST LUNCH
While the new set menu is reason enough to book a table, Gaucho Newcastle has plenty more to tempt you back again and again. From Cocktail Hour (signature cocktails for £6 each, daily from 4–6.30pm) to BYOB Mondays with complimentary corkage and the legendary Sunday Roasts served with unlimited Yorkshire puddings and gravy, there’s always something to look forward to.
And this autumn, the à la carte menu has some exciting new arrivals, including Gaucho’s first-ever steak and Malbec pie – a warming dish of slow-cooked Argentine beef and mushrooms in a rich Malbec jus – and the triumphant return of the classic steakhouse burger.
