The French Quarter, Newcastle

The French Quarter – French restaurant, wine bar and deli in Newcastle city centre

The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar set out to challenge the idea that French dining has to be formal or fussy, offering a regularly updated wine list and small plates menu alongside classic French dishes. There’s also a market section where you can shop French deli products and gift vouchers to take home.

The draw: the combination of a proper French wine list with a genuinely relaxed, unstuffy atmosphere, plus the deli market means you can pick up a bit of France to take home after your meal.

Hours:

Closed Monday and Sunday.

Tuesday to Thursday 12pm to 2.30pm and 5pm to 9.30pm

Friday 12pm to 2.45pm and 5pm to 9.30pm

Saturday 12pm to 9.30pm non-stop.

Vibe check: genuinely relaxed rather than stuffy fine dining, a good spot for a proper French wine and small plates evening without the formality.
