Piercebridge Organic Farm, County Durham

Piercebridge Organics – Organic farm shop & butchery in Piercebridge, County Durham

A family-run, fully organic 300-acre farm producing its own Aberdeen Angus beef, Landrace Duroc pork, lamb from a mixed flock, and eggs, all farmed by the same family since 1964. The on-site butchery is properly old-fashioned, rearing and butchering everything themselves, including homemade burgers, sausages, ham, bacon and classic cuts. The farm has also picked up awards for conservation, including the Silver Lapwing award, and supports a thriving population of skylarks, curlews, barn owls and more.

The draw: genuinely farm-to-counter meat and produce, plus a post office on site for a proper one-stop visit. Note the café is currently closed.

Hours:

Mon-Sat 9am-3:30pm

Sun 9:30am-1pm, closed bank holidays (worth checking ahead around Christmas and New Year, as hours shift over that period)

Vibe check: a proper working farm shop rather than a polished retail experience, best for stocking up on quality meat directly from the source.
