Keel Row Books, Whitley Bay

Keel Row Books – Rare and antiquarian bookshop in Whitley Bay

Keel Row Books is the longest established rare and collectable bookshop in the North East of England, specialising in first editions, signed and antiquarian books, fine bindings and literature, with a strong focus on the history and topography of Northumberland, Durham and Newcastle, including works by Thomas Bewick. They travel countrywide buying and selling rare books, maps, photographs and ephemera.

The draw: genuine rare finds sit alongside more everyday titles, from antiquarian volumes and inscribed first editions to Penguin paperbacks, so there’s something for serious collectors and casual browsers alike. They’re also members of the ABA, ILAB and PBFA, marking them out as a trusted specialist dealer.

Hours:

Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.

Closed Monday and Sunday.

Vibe check: a proper browsing bookshop for anyone who loves getting lost among old books, worth setting aside real time to explore rather than a quick in and out visit.
