Mercury Prize Fringe – Newcastle
The Mercury Prize Fringe returns for its biggest edition yet, with more than 30 events across almost 30 venues as the Mercury Prize comes to the North East for a second successive year.
It’s programmed by Generator, the North’s leading music development agency, presented and funded by Newcastle City Council and the BPI, building on the success of the first-ever Fringe in 2025. Across the week you’ll find live performances, listening parties, screenings, workshops, talks and one-off events, bringing artists, fans and the wider industry together and handing a major platform to the region’s emerging talent.
Highlights include a big-screen premiere of Sam Fender’s London Stadium show at Tyneside Cinema, a day of acoustic sets at Grainger Market Unplugged, BBC Introducing Live headlined by Sunderland’s own Tom A. Smith, and an intimate homecoming listening party from Mercury-shortlisted Knats.
The week also includes Generator Live, a free day-long music industry conference.
