Generator Live – Newcastle
Generator Live is a one-day music industry conference from Generator, the North’s leading music development agency, staged as part of the Mercury Prize Fringe.
More than 300 delegates are expected across talks, panels, workshops and networking, opening with a fireside chat between BPI chief Jo Twist and Generator’s Mick Ross. Sessions range from touring, publishing and music export to building an audience beyond streaming, with speakers including Warner’s Lucy Fletcher, Sound Diplomacy’s Shain Shapiro and Whitley Bay songwriter L Devine.
For artists there’s real access on offer: bookable 1:1 advice sessions covering everything from funding to management, and A&R feedback sessions where you submit a track in advance to hear from label professionals. There’s also a BBC Introducing panel with presenter Shakk Hashemi and Sunderland’s Tom A. Smith.
