History Walk – Morpeth

Morpeth Chantry hosts a guided history walk with local Barbara Waldie, a true Morpethian sharing the exciting history of the Chantry, River Wansbeck and Carlisle Park area, including a stop at the grand statue of Emily Wilding Davison.

You’ll walk across the historic Chantry Bridge, learning about the river’s crossings and famous floods, before heading to Carlisle Park to discover Emily Davison’s links to Morpeth and her amazing legacy.

The walk also takes in the marvel of Ha’ Hill and the history of the historic Courthouse, before returning to the Chantry to find out why its own history is so unique. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
