The Royal Ballet: The Nutcracker Screening – Durham
Gala Durham screens The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker, part of the Royal Ballet and Opera cinema season.
Peter Wright’s enchanting production sets Tchaikovsky’s much-loved score to a world of festive magic, captured live from the stage.
At a cosy Christmas party, young Clara meets the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer and is given a nutcracker doll. Once the house is asleep, she slips downstairs and is swept into a wonderland of flurrying snow and glittering sweets, where the toys come to life. It’s a sparkling treat for all ages.
