Henna Asikainen & Roua Horanieh: To Own Both Nothing and the Whole World – BALTIC

This exhibition coincides with the 80th anniversary of the first Moomin story by Tove Jansson, which focused on displacement.

Work by artists Henna Asikainen and Roua Horanieh will be displayed around the gallery, exploring themes of home, belonging and the nature around us.

Many of the materials used are foraged from the surrounding landscape and have their own story, giving deeper meaning to each piece.

The exhibition takes place over Refugee Week 2025 and was developed with people who have experienced migration and displacement and now live in Gateshead or Newcastle.
