From Joséphine Bowes: Trendsetters and Trailblazers – The Bowes Museum

This landmark exhibition is a celebration of The Bowes Museum’s co-founder, Joséphine Bowes.

To mark her 200th anniversary, this spectacular display showcases an array of eclectic art from across three centuries. This includes paintings, sculptures, textiles and ceramics from artists like Pablo Picasso and Sir Grayson Perry CBE, to contemporaries such as Joy Labinjo and Lucy Waters.

The exhibition is designed to show you Joséphine’s impressive understanding of artistic trends and game-changing approaches to collecting.

You can also visit the exhibition ‘Joséphine: A Woman of Taste and Fashion’ to marvel at an incredible range of textiles and designer pieces, collected by Joséphine herself.
