The Mrs Doubtfire musical arrives at Theatre Royal Newcastle tonight, and if you haven’t got your tickets yet, this is your final call.
The West End and Broadway smash hit is here in the Toon from Wednesday 23rd September to Sunday 11th October 2026 as part of its first-ever UK and Ireland tour, and seats for opening week are already moving fast.
This is the last push to grab your tickets before Newcastle’s favourite nanny fluffs up her wig, straps on her heels and heads straight for Grey Street. Whether you grew up on the 1993 film or you’ve never seen it, this is the one to catch this autumn.
A FATHER IN DISGUISE, A FAMILY REUNITED
The musical is based on the beloved film starring Robin Williams, and it keeps every bit of the heart and hairspray intact. It follows Daniel Hillard, an out-of-work actor who transforms himself into the tartan-clad Euphegenia Doubtfire so he can stay close to his children.
Gabriel Vick, who won over West End audiences in the role, is back in the wig and tights for the tour. His switch between Daniel and Mrs Doubtfire is as funny as it is moving, so pack the tissues alongside the laughs.
As Mrs Doubtfire herself puts it, “He’s just a little sloppy with his parenting. But he’s got a good heart.”
