Inside Rhoē: The new wellness clinic in Jesmond that’s doing things differently

A new wellness clinic is opening its doors in Jesmond this summer, and it’s doing things differently from the start.
Rhoē is built around one core belief: we look our best when we’re healthy.
The clinic puts wellbeing at the centre of the conversation and shifts the focus from surface-level treatments to a deeper understanding of what your skin and body need.
THE SYMPTOM ISN’T THE STORY
Rhoē was founded by a group of doctors and dentists who kept seeing the same pattern. Patients would arrive with oral and skin complaints, often alongside poor sleep, stress, or poor nutrition.
The clinic’s approach follows from that observation. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Rhoē looks at the foundations of good health, believing that when these are properly supported, patients will look and feel their best.
“The body doesn’t operate in silos,” the team explains. “We want to give clients the opportunity to think about their whole wellness, not just how they look.”
That thinking shapes every aspect of the clinic. The name Rhoē itself comes from the Greek word for “flow,” a nod to the idea that health isn’t static, but something that needs continuous, intentional regulation of body systems to keep working well. It’s the philosophy behind Rhoē’s treatment list, and the one that will shape the clinic’s direction of growth.
A PREVENTIVE APPROACH FOR A NEW ERA OF HEALTHCARE
Rhoē has been built on the idea that prevention is better than cure. There’s growing public understanding of how connected the body’s systems are, how stress affects skin, how sleep affects hormones, and how food affects almost everything.
That philosophy is the lens the clinic applies to everything it does, and the one it will keep building on: supporting the body’s own repair mechanisms and long-term vitality, rather than intervening only once something’s gone wrong.
A TEAM WITH MEDICAL DEPTH
Rhoē’s founding team is made up of medically trained clinicians: a GP, a gynaecologist, and a dentist, alongside a skin specialist with over five years of aesthetics training in medical-grade treatments. Each brings a different clinical background to how the clinic thinks about treatment.
For the team, their medical grounding isn’t incidental to delivering treatments; it’s the point. A detailed understanding of anatomy and physiology, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and an obligation to help their clients be their healthiest selves shape how every procedure at Rhoē is delivered.
FIVE ELEMENT ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is one of Rhoē’s signature treatments, delivered by Dr Charlotte Ritchie using the Five Element method: an approach that treats the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. Charlotte spent over six years practising as a GP before training in acupuncture, bringing a doctor’s understanding of physiology alongside her training in systems regulation.
Five Element acupuncture is particularly effective for supporting stress, sleep, and mood. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends acupuncture as an option for chronic primary pain, reflecting a growing evidence base for the treatment. Charlotte’s grounding in both Western medicine and Eastern acupuncture captures what Rhoē is about: approaching health holistically.
The team’s approach reflects that same combination throughout all of the care they provide – rigorous, evidence-based medical training is paired with an interest in integrating complementary therapies like acupuncture to help their clients achieve their goals.
AESTHETICS, DONE DIFFERENTLY
Rhoē’s aesthetics offering centres on micro-needling, chemical peels, anti-wrinkle injections, polynucleotides, PRP, and exosome therapies. These are treatments that work by supporting the skin’s own repair mechanisms.
They are delivered by the clinic’s medical team alongside Lucy, Rhoē’s skin specialist, and treatment plans are tailored to individual needs. Dr Tanveer Dhanoya and Amit Singh provide other, more medically advanced treatments such as PRP therapy and exosome treatment. All clinicians share a natural-looking, health-first philosophy. The goal is to support the skin to repair and function better, and for clients to look like themselves, just healthier.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR RHOĒ
As Rhoē prepares to welcome its first patients this summer, the team hopes people leave feeling heard, with care that reflects who they are and not just the thing they walked in asking about.
It’s a first step. Rhoē is launching with a strong team and a clear philosophy, and plans to keep growing as the founders learn more about what their patients need.
