Ditching the car doesn’t just save you the parking headache; it can save you some pennies on your days out, too. Across the North East, attractions are offering up to 25% off to visitors arriving by bus (just show your ticket).

And the travel itself is a bargain with The Mayor’s Fares. Singles are capped at £2.50, or you can grab a day’s unlimited travel by asking for the £7.50 TNE Day Saver ticket. Passengers aged 5 to 21 pay just £1 for a single or £3 for a regionwide day ticket, and children aged 5 to 11 travel free with an adult during school holidays (up to three children aged 11 or under). The offer applies right across the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority area, covering County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
