FUN THINGS TO DO
Walk along the beach to Huntcliff
Saltburn beach is one of the most breathtaking on the Tees Valley coastline, thanks to the framing of the pier on one side and Huntcliff on the other. You can’t visit the town without popping your shoes off and strolling along the sand, so be sure to head towards the iconic cliff and check out the rock pools for crabs or fossils.
Find the Charm Bracelet
A little hidden gem in Saltburn is the Charm Bracelet sculpture on the top of Huntcliff as part of the Cleveland Way trail. Pull on your walking boots and climb up the hill behind The Ship Inn. Follow the route along the cliff top for around 40 minutes and you should find the sculpture with its ten dangling charms, plus incredible views of the town.
Give surfing a try
No matter if you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, Flow Surf and Saltburn Surf School on the seafront have got you covered. Both offer group or private lessons for those of us who are new to the waves, as well as surf hire for the experts. People travel from around the world to surf in Saltburn, so join them and catch some North Sea curls.
Have a sea dip and sauna
Saltburn Wild Trailer Sauna is stationed at the end of the promenade with cosy, woodfired sessions from just £10pp for an hour. Then feel the rush of a bracing plunge in the sea to invigorate the senses and boost endorphins. If you’ve never tried contrast therapy before, we really recommend giving it a go and what better place to do it than Saltburn beach?
