Get ready to roll on the river, because TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is heading to Newcastle Theatre Royal – and the full cast has officially been announced.

PROUD MARY KEEPS ON BURNING: FROM NUTBUSH TO GLOBAL ICON
Telling the extraordinary true story of Tina Turner’s rise from humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to becoming a 12-time Grammy Award–winning global superstar, this is more than a jukebox musical — it’s a celebration of resilience, reinvention and raw talent.
Packed with electrifying hits including The Best, What’s Love Got To Do With It?, Private Dancer and River Deep, Mountain High, the show delivers non-stop energy, emotion and moments that will give you goosebumps.
WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT? EVERYTHING, ACTUALLY.
At its heart, TINA is the story of a woman who refused to be defined by her past, her relationships or the limits placed upon her. It’s bold, empowering and deeply moving — a reminder that strength can come from survival, and triumph can come from truth.
A WEST END LEGEND, ON TOUR BREAKING RECORDS — AND BOUNDARIES
After running at London’s Aldwych Theatre for more than six years after its world premiere, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is the longest-running show in the venue’s history, with productions spanning Broadway, Europe, Australia and beyond. And now it comes to Newcastle.
With direction by Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!), a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall, and choreography by Anthony van Laast, this is theatre royalty from top to toe.
MEET THE POWERHOUSE PERFORMERS STEPPING INTO TINA’S HEELS
Sharing the iconic role of Tina Turner are two extraordinary leading ladies: Elle Ma-Kinga N’Zuzi and Jochebel Ohene MacCarthy, both no strangers to commanding the stage with powerhouse vocals and undeniable presence.
They’ll be joined by David King-Yombo as Ike Turner, alongside a stellar supporting cast including Martin Allanson as legendary producer Phil Spector, William Beckerleg as Erwin Bach and Isaac Elder as manager Roger Davies. From Tina’s family to her fiercely loyal inner circle, every chapter of her story is brought vividly to life.
The company is completed by a dynamic ensemble, show-stopping Ikettes and a talented children’s cast — because every legend has a beginning.
RIVER DEEP, TALENT HIGH: TWO TINAS, ONE UNFORGETTABLE STORY
Elle Ma-Kinga N’Zuzi joins the tour having previously alternated the role of Tina in the Stuttgart production, with an impressive international career spanning Moulin Rouge!, Cats, The Lion King and award-winning performances across Europe.
Jochebel Ohene MacCarthy brings her own star power, fresh from the original Australian production of TINA, as well as acclaimed turns in The Color Purple, Hairspray and The Lion King. Between them, audiences are in for a masterclass in strength, soul and serious star quality.
