3SIXTY is here to elevate your Christmas celebrations to new heights this year.

Rising above Newcastle in the tallest building in the city, 3SIXTY transforms the festive season into a celebration in the clouds.

Perched atop Hadrian’s Tower on Rutherford Street, this sleek sky lounge, champagne bar and restaurant is the go-to to celebrate in style and is Newcastle’s only place with 360-degree panoramic views.

As you step into the lift, you’re whisked skyward toward floor-to-ceiling windows, twinkling city lights and a skyline that stretches from the iconic Quayside bridges to St James’ Park and beyond.

It’s a setting that feels intimate, special, and elevates any celebration.

A WARM WELCOME ABOVE THE CITY

Arriving at 3SIXTY, the host will greet you with genuine warmth, offering a curated wine list and a Christmas cocktail menu you have to explore before it disappears for the year.

I went straight for the festive bellini – a playful, interactive pour-yourself cocktail with a pink bauble of fresh juice, sprig of rosemary and cranberries. It’s sweet, crisp and tastes the perfect pre-dinner treat. Beth, an Aperol-lover, ordered the winter Aperol spritz, which blends the familiar citrus notes with a subtle cinnamon twist – a gorgeous seasonal upgrade to a classic.

A FESTIVE FAYRE ABOVE THE REST

Cost: £39.95 for two courses

3SIXTY’s Christmas Fayre Menu features seasonal ingredients prepared with finesse, with views that elevate every bite.

For starters, I went for the duck rillettes – silky, rich and perfectly balanced with a fragrant fig jam and warm grilled brioche. Each mouthful was indulgent yet refined, the sweetness of the fig cutting through the savouriness beautifully. Beth chose the beetroot carpaccio, a vibrant plate of paper-thin beetroot with a bright herby vinaigrette and heritage tomatoes. Fresh, earthy and visually striking, it was a refreshing festive alternative to heavier starters.

For mains, Beth’s beef Wellington truly impressed. Wrapped in crisp pastry, the tender beef rested in a delicate layer of mushroom duxelles, all brought together by a glossy red wine reduction. Served with caramelised carrots and a potato fondant, it was a luxurious, winter-warming dish worth the £5 supplement.

I chose the traditional turkey with all the trimmings, and it was everything a Christmas classic should be – comforting, generous and flavourful. The turkey was moist, the stuffing aromatic and the trimmings – from pigs in blankets to perfectly roasted vegetables – brought all the nostalgia of Christmas dinner but with a polished, restaurant-worthy finish.

Although we had no room for a dessert, when we browsed the menu there were plenty of delicious options – from salted caramel profiteroles to a rich vegan chocolate fudge cake and the timeless Christmas pudding.
