Matty explains: “Long cascading layers are the star of this look — soft face-framing curtain layers create movement without needing constant styling.”
This cut thrives on air-drying, meaning far less heat (your winter-frizz will thank you). Matty adds that it’s “less structured than a full blowout — a lot more natural movement.”
Maintenance is beautifully minimal:
A rough-dry, a round brush if you feel fancy, or one set with a large curling iron once a week. And because the layers are fluid rather than sharp, Matty says the cut “grows out gracefully — no harsh lines or obvious loss of shape.”

LIVED-IN CURLS
This trend is all about embracing what your hair wants to do naturally.
Matty describes the shape as “a layered cut with light airy bangs — it brings this modern shag to life.”
The focus is on soft volume through the crown, allowing curls to fall into place without heavy products or rigid styling.
It’s also wonderfully low-maintenance: “Another style that keeps super low effort because the cut works with the curl pattern,” Matty says.
Instead of tight, gelled coils, this look leans into soft, frizz-friendly texture:
“Softer definition rather than super-gelled ringlets keeps the look realistic.”
The secret? Hydration. Always.

THE SHAGGY BIXIE

Matty explains: “Warm coppers and autumns have been the A/W colour trend for the past two years and it’s continuing strongly.”
Adding golden glimmers throughout keeps the colour multi-dimensional and low-commitment.
Because of that crafted blend, “it regrows more naturally and doesn’t require constant root touch-ups.”
The fade is intentional — drifting into a pretty strawberry-auburn through winter.

LIVED-IN GREY BLENDING
One of winter’s biggest power moves? Embracing natural greys — but making them luxe.
Matty says this season is all about “adding cool, smoky tones to create a more polished, bespoke feel.”
