From bold illustrations to cosy knitted accessories, you’ll find something for everyone on your Christmas list. Entry is just £2 and under-18s go free — booking is essential, so plan ahead.

FESTIVE TREATS AND FEEL-GOOD FREEBIES

The smell of freshly baked gingerbread instantly makes you feel Christmasy, and at Baltic, you can expect all the festive fun. Pop into the Front Room for some free gingerbread decorating – perfect for the little ones and anyone young at heart. Sip on complimentary tea and coffee while you get creative with this hands-on workshop.

Don’t miss a pop-up performance from the Sisters in Harmony Choir, whose beautiful harmonies are guaranteed to give you goosebumps. Then, discover artist Qi Fang Colbert, whose pop-up shop showcases beautifully crafted ceramics, limited-edition linocut prints, and striking collage paintings – ideal if you want to own something special and unique.

TOURS WITH A TWIST

If you’ve ever wandered through Baltic’s vast gallery spaces and wondered about the stories behind the art, the Spotlight Tours are not to be missed.
Explore the latest in a new group exhibition initiated by Baltic, exploring how human activities affect marine life in For All At Last Return and the first solo exhibition in a UK institution by artist and filmmaker Saodat Ismailova.
