If there’s one place you need to be this summer (and into early autumn), it’s The Bosk at Breamish Valley.
Nestled in the heart of Northumberland, this hidden gem is pushing the boat out with an incredible new menu that’s all about bold flavours, comforting classics, and indulgent sharing platters.
Whether you’re planning a special evening with friends, a romantic countryside break, or simply want to eat and drink exceptionally well – The Bosk has something to offer everyone.
The best part? This exclusive new menu is running right up until October half term, so there’s plenty of time to book a table (or even a room) and experience it for yourself.
INSIDE THE BOSK
From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice The Bosk is no ordinary restaurant. Set on the stunning grounds of Breamish Valley Cottages, the venue is equal parts rustic charm and refined style.
Think vaulted ceilings, handmade chandeliers, exposed wood and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light and give you uninterrupted views of Northumberland’s rolling hills. It’s a setting that makes every meal feel like a special occasion – and the food more than lives up to the surroundings.
WHAT’S NEW ON THE NEW MENU?
Let’s get straight to the good stuff. The Bosk’s new seasonal menu is a proper treat. Available Wednesday through Saturday evenings, it offers a mix of comforting favourites and bold, globally inspired flavours.
If you love steak, then The Bosk Steak Deal is your new go-to. Choose from a perfectly grilled 8oz ribeye or sirloin, served with seasoned fries, grilled tomato and field mushroom, plus your choice of sauce – blue cheese, Diane or whisky peppercorn. And yes, it comes with a drink included for just £30.
For sharing (or not, no judgement) the Bosk Platter is a meat lover’s dream. Think sliders, chicken tenders, bacon and mozzarella croquettes, firecracker chicken tacos, cured meats and more. It’s bold, it’s indulgent and it’s designed for long evenings and lively catch-ups.
And don’t sleep on the Duo of Tacos – these fish-filled soft shells come with a zingy pineapple salsa and seasoned fries. It’s the kind of dish that instantly transports you to somewhere tropical, even if you’re firmly in the UK countryside.
Other standouts include the firecracker king prawns, Thai beef salad, and a gorgeous honey and soy-glazed salmon served with noodles and pak choi. Vegetarian? No problem. Salt and pepper tofu and the vibrant heirloom tomato and feta salad are both deliciously fresh and satisfying.
FRIDAYS ARE FOR PIZZA & SMALL PLATES
From April through October, Fridays take on a more casual vibe at The Bosk. Their pizza night is the stuff of local legend — hand-stretched bases topped with everything from spicy nduja to goats cheese and red onion chutney.
Pair your pizza with some small plates like garlic prawns and chorizo, halloumi fries or pulled pork bon bons and you’ve got a winning combo.
SUNDAYS DONE PROPERLY
Sunday lunches at The Bosk are a big deal – and once you try them, you’ll understand why. With mains like striploin of beef, pork loin, chicken breast or slow-roasted lamb shoulder, plus all the proper trimmings (think cauliflower cheese, mash, crispy roasties, Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy), this is comfort food at its finest.
Veggie? The homemade nut roast is packed with flavour and every bit as satisfying. Round it off with a sticky toffee pudding or a Kinder Bueno cheesecake and thank us later.
STAY THE NIGHT
Why not make a weekend of it? The Bosk also boasts three boutique-style B&B rooms (sleeping two) right above the restaurant. Each room is individually designed with chic interiors, fluffy towels, soft linens and luxurious en-suite bathrooms. In the morning, breakfast is served downstairs and includes local meats and eggs sourced from nearby farms.
Plus, you get free access to the newly opened tranquil spa, gym and tennis courts on site. Read more about Breamish Valley Spa here.
Whether you’ve spent your day hiking the Cheviots or lounging in the hot tub, a restful night’s sleep and a full Northumbrian breakfast are guaranteed to hit the spot.
