Mrs. Doubtfire, the smash-hit musical straight from the West End and Broadway, is coming to Newcastle Theatre Royal from Wednesday 23rd September to Sunday 11th October 2026 as part of her first-ever UK and Ireland tour.
Based on the beloved family film, this heartwarming and hilarious musical brings all the iconic moments you know and love. Plus, there are some fab new songs and dazzling dance numbers.
It’s a feel-good, side-splitting story about love, laughter and doing whatever it takes for your family.
If you’re a fan of big laughs, uplifting tunes and a certain Scottish nanny with a twinkle in her eye and a fire in her heels, then grab your tickets, dear – you won’t want to miss this.
See you there, poppets…
THE MRS. DOUBTFIRE MUSICAL STRAIGHT FROM THE WEST END AND BROADWAY
This beloved musical comedy is based on the 1993 film starring Robin Williams, and just like the original, it’s full of heart, humour and a whole lot of hairspray.
The Mrs. Doubtfire musical tells the story of Daniel Hillard, an out-of-work actor who’ll go to any lengths to stay in his children’s lives – even if that means becoming the tartan-wrapped Euphegenia Doubtfire.
And there’s no drama this nanny can’t handle with a song, a sassy remark and a spritz of lemon pledge.
A FATHER IN DISGUISE, A FAMILY REUNITED
Gabriel Vick, who won over West End audiences as Daniel/Mrs. Doubtfire will be wearing the wig and tights once more for the tour. And let us tell you, he plays an amazing part. His transformation into the feisty, fierce and oh-so-funny Mrs. D isn’t only hilarious but a tearjerker too – tissues at the ready.
This is more than just a comedy, it’s a love letter to family, fatherhood and second chances. Daniel’s journey is messy, moving and genuinely funny. And as Mrs. Doubtfire says, “He’s just a little sloppy with his parenting. But he’s got a good heart.”
ALL THE HITS – PLUS SOME NEW TRICKS
The Mrs. Doubtfire musical features all the iconic moments you know and love from the film – yes, including the pie-in-the-face scene, along with some dazzling new dances and original songs that’ll have you dancing along.
Expect it’s a full-on, laugh-out-loud, feel-all-the-feels theatrical show that’s perfect for the whole family.
As Mrs. Doubtfire herself would say, “Help is on the way, dear,” and she’s heading to Newcastle.
