DURHAM BRASS FESTIVAL

Taking inspiration from the brass band heritage of Durham and celebrating brass music in all its forms, Durham Brass Festival brings together all musical genres into a nine-day festival taking place across County Durham. In recent years, the festival has included headline contemporary performances involving brass, across iconic locations, from UK and international artists including Richard Hawley, LYR and Fat Freddy’s Drop.

LONGBOW DEMONSTRATIONS
When: Saturday 6th July – Tuesday 9th July – various times
Where: Alnwick Castle
Price: Free with admission
Watch in awe as master archer Andy Rice demonstrates the skill and technique required to wield a medieval English longbow. In between firing arrows at a target, Andy will tell you all about the strength and technical skills that medieval archers would have needed. He’ll also share some gruesome tales from the battlefield…

DAFT PUNKZ – THE LIVE DAFT PUNK TRIBUTE

PROMS IN THE PARK

Where: South Park Bandstand, Darlington

Bring a picnic and settle down outside the bandstand for Darlington’s Proms in the Park. You’ll be treated to an afternoon of majestic music from bands across the North East, with tunes to suit all ages. Money raised from this lovely event will go towards The Army Benevolent Fund.

SANGHA WOMEN: EXPLORING SELF-IDENTITY THROUGH MENOPAUSE
When: Sunday 7th July, 6.00pm – 7.30pm
Where: Jasmine Yoga, Tynemouth
