Live Theatre – New writing theatre & venue on Newcastle Quayside

Live Theatre has built an international reputation as a new writing theatre, producing new plays and nurturing emerging talent, once described by The Guardian as “one of the most fertile crucibles of new writing.” The programme spans full productions, comedy, family festivals, Edinburgh Fringe previews and work from local youth theatre alumni, alongside talent development and free workshops for primary schools across the North East.

The draw: genuinely first-class new writing and a real sense of nurturing local talent, plus a Friends membership scheme offering closer access to the drama.
