Ernest is an independent cafe bar at the top end of the Ouseburn valley, serving honest food, brunch and drinks alongside a regular programme of music, art and events, including things like backroom wine tastings. It’s open from 10am until late every day.
The draw: the happy hour deals are a big pull, 2 for £15 spritz and aperitivo Sunday to Thursday, plus 2 for £15 margaritas every Monday. The events programme also gives it more going on than a typical cafe bar.
