Allard’s Lounge, Tynemouth

Allard’s Lounge – Café, wine bar & restaurant in Tynemouth

First opened in 2011 in a building once known as Allard’s Grocery & Provision Merchants, famous locally for its ‘Golden Tip Tea’ in the late 1800s. What started as a small, cosy café serving tapas and wine has grown into a proper café bar and restaurant combined, extended in 2015 to add a more formal dining space alongside the original dog-friendly café bar.

The draw: a prime spot on Tynemouth’s Front Street, a stone’s throw from the beaches and Tynemouth Priory, plus regular happy hour deals (4 tapas & 2 drinks for £32.95), pizza and burger offers through the week, and local DJs at weekends.

Hours:

Sun-Thu 8:30am-11pm (food served 9am-9pm)

Fri-Sat 8:30am-12am (food served 9am-9:30pm)

Vibe check: easy-going by day, lively by night, works equally well for a coastal coffee stop, a working lunch, or a weekend night out.
