We All Came Here From Somewhere – BALTIC

We all came here from somewhere is an exhibition exploring the question: ‘How can we be a good neighbour and support people seeking sanctuary to feel welcome and at home in the North East?’.

Developed alongside community partners and collaborators with lived experience of migration and displacement, the exhibition shines a light on the people, practice and rituals that create a culture of welcome… and reminds us that ‘welcome’ remains a work in progress.

Observe an array of video work, photography and prints focused on topics like the myths and realities of the UK asylum system, the toll that the asylum process can take on people’s lives, and how we can consider a more welcoming world for humans, plants and animals alike.
