Stargazing Supper – County Durham
High Force Hotel & Waterfall hosts an immersive evening of stargazing and fine dining in the heart of the North Pennines National Landscape, home to some of the darkest, clearest skies in England.
You’ll begin with a three-course meal in the elegant Garden Room, followed by an expert presentation on the night sky.
As darkness falls, a professional astronomy guide leads you down to the illuminated High Force Waterfall to witness the power of nature by moonlight and explore constellations, planets and celestial wonders. With geology, storytelling and the history of Teesdale woven in, it’s a night to remember for seasoned stargazers and curious first-timers alike.
The walk to the waterfall is in the dark and can be slippery, so wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear. Note it isn’t suitable for mobility scooters, and large bags and tripods aren’t permitted on the tour.
