Sensory walk – Newcastle
Ouseburn Valley hosts the second instalment of Sensory Walks, a series run by Common C in collaboration with Girls Who Walk Newcastle, exploring the natural world through the senses.
This session slows down to listen, tuning into the soundscape of Ouseburn, from birdsong and flowing water to footsteps and the city’s own background hum.
Ouseburn Ecologist Emily Anderson joins to help decode the hidden language of birds, before the walk turns creative, with participants building an artistic sound map of everything they’ve heard using drawings, symbols and textures. No creative or nature experience needed, meeting outside the Ship Inn.
