Ocean Film Festival – Whitley Bay
Playhouse Whitley Bay hosts the Ocean Film Festival World Tour, back for autumn 2026 with a brand-new selection of the world’s most incredible ocean films.
Brought to you by the team behind the Banff Mountain Film Festival, this cinematic celebration of the oceans combines breathtaking marine life and wild voyages across a collection of short films.
You’ll venture to rarely explored depths of the planet, meeting surfers, paddlers, divers and scientists who’ve dedicated their lives to answering the call of the ocean, plunging into the wonders of the sea without getting your feet wet. Seating is reserved, with concession tickets available for full-time students, under-16s, the unemployed and over-65s. Age rating 12A, with under-14s needing to be accompanied by an adult.
