Monster Making – Newcastle
Kiln Pottery hosts Monster Making, a fun, totally playful session throwing out the rulebook of perfection and leaning into the wonderfully weird.
Using hand-building techniques, you’ll bring your very own quirky clay creature to life – silly, cute or completely bizarre, entirely up to you, with no mistakes here, just personality.
The hour-long session starts with refreshments and a look at finished clay creatures for inspiration, before a demo covering hand-building techniques and how to attach eyes, horns, teeth or wings so they don’t fall off in the kiln. Once you’ve finished sculpting, pieces are dried, professionally glazed and kiln-fired, taking around two to six weeks before they’re ready to be adopted and taken home.
Recurring event: Various dates and times through to December, on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
