Harvest Festival Birthday Party – Newcastle
Ouseburn Farm celebrates its 50th birthday with a Harvest Festival, bringing all the fun of a countryside farm show into the city.
The day runs from crafts and farmyard games, drop-in any time between 10am and 4pm to make a farm animal party hat or play a game, to a full programme of competitions, judged at 11.30am, covering creature from the veg patch, most impressive vegetable, tastiest conserve, and sweet and savoury baked goods, with entries dropped off between 10am and 11.30am.
A kids’ fell race sets off at 11.30am, suitable for ages 5 and up with a grown-up alongside, followed by a prize ceremony and community feast at midday. The afternoon brings live country music from the Byker Hillbillies, locally brewed Two by Two Brewing beers, fresh farm produce to try, and a sheep race at 3.30pm. There’s also a farm-themed photobooth running from 11am to 2pm.
