Franki Raffles: Photography, Activism, Campaign Works – BALTIC

Franki Raffles was a feminist, activist and social documentary photographer in the latter half of the 20th century. She documented the lives of women.

While her subjects were mostly living in Scotland, she later photographed those in the Soviet Union, China, Zimbabwe, the Caribbean and Palestine. Her work demonstrates the parallels between women around the world.

This retrospective exhibition showcases her photographs and shines a light on the realities of women, from their joys to their struggles.
